The Art Institute

The Art Institute sounds like a great college for someone like me. I love to draw and design things. This institute offers many things that I believe I would be interested in such as graphic design, fashion design, and game art and design. I love being creative, so I know that these things would be something I would really enjoy.

I hadn't really thought about persuing my career in the arts until we had the presentation. I always knew that I had a passion for art, but I didn't think I would be interested in studying it. The classes at The Art Institute seem to be very fun, interesting, and hands on which is what I like. I like to be able to apply myself creatively in my work, so this institute would be a great experience for me.

I now believe that I really do want to go to one of the Art Institutes to study in something that I really will enjoy and persue my career in something that I have a true passion for.

Game Design and Creation

Game design and creation, in my opinion, can be very fun. Once you get passed all the html codes and confusing things, you know what you're doing and it makes it easier and more enjoyable. It lets you be creative and put your own ideas into games.

I really enjoy playing video games in my free time. It's very fun, and it helps sometimes to take my mind off things or just simply pass time and make me less bored. A lot of different games are enjoyable, and it can be a little addictive to play some of these games. Video games are definitely a very great thing to own.. I love them.

I enjoy playing once such as UFC Undisputed, COD, Splinter Cell, James Bond, Grand Theft Auto (I enjoy it only because its fun, I wouldn't actually do anything I do on this game.. lol), and many others.

Also, this mini game project we have been doing in Globaloria let me know just how hard game designing can be. But, it only gives me a small taste of what it's like, because what we do is considered simple. Game designing, though, can be fun once you know what you're really doing. Although it can be pretty complicated, its fun as well.

Things I've Learned in Globaloria

During Globaloria class, I've learned a lot of new things. Some being blogging, creating a wiki page, and working with flash and html.

I have always had a general idea of how to blog, but I had never actually done it before being in this class. I've had to do this quite a few times about different topics and things I've done in this class. It's really easy.

Creating a wiki was a little hard at first, but I got the hang of it. We had to use a lot of flash and html codes during this process. This wasn't new because I had used this on other sites such as Myspace.

During researching my group's game, Family Food, I learned that West Virginia has a very high obesity rate. We decided to make this game because it could help make a difference, and at the same time, it could be fun. We really enjoy playing Family Fued and many others do too, so we thought that this could be a good game to make.

Head Chix In Charge

We decided to call our team "Head Chix In Charge". My teammate is Marissa. She's funny, cooperative, and great to work with. I like having her on my team.

As of now, our idea for our game is undecided.. we are still trying to think of some ideas.

Racing Games

The genre of game I would use would be racing games. This genre, in my opinion, is the funnest to play. I enjoy racing, and I believe many others would too.

Racing games can help to explain physics, and many other things. The graphics and sounds are cool, and they make the games more interesting. It keeps the player wanting to play more and more. They are kind of addicting to me.. so yeah, racing games are pretty cool. I'd like to use this genre for my game.

Why Internet Safety Is Important

Why is it important to protect your privacy on the internet?

It is very important to protect your privacy on the internet. There are many reasons for this. One reason is that if you aren't careful with your information, people can steal your identity and set up a new account with it. Also, people can find out where you live and come find you. This is putting your life in danger. People such as pedophiles pretend to be younger or older and find out more information about you. Another reason is phishing, email fraud and spamming. People pose as things they aren't and make you think that you are getting something by completing a survey or order form with your information. They also hack your accounts and get items with your information and money. For these many reasons, internet safety and privacy is extremely important.

My First Blog

Hello. (: So, last year in my Freshman year here at Man High, my 6th period history teacher, Mrs. Mullins told us about Globaloria. She explained it to us, and I agreed to be put in this class. I really think I made a great choice, because I believe it will be a very fun experience.

On the first day, we did a survey. Of course it wasn't too fun, but we only had to do it twice.. haha. Mrs. Ellis was given the wrong link, so we had to take another similar one. After that, we were finished with surveys! Then, we made our wikis. I thought this was pretty fun, because it was like another myspace or facebook.. and most of us enjoy that. We learned how to put pictures on our profile, and change the font and background colors. The codes were kind of confusing at first, but I got the hang of it.. after I messed up a few times.

We also made our Blogger accounts. I liked this too, because we could personalize it and make it look pretty. Of course, I am using that now.. haha. Now that we have covered some of the basics, I can't wait to start on flash and work on making games.

I can already tell, this will be one of my favorite classes. It should be fun, but at the same time educational. Globaloria, yeah.. it's great. I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about signing up for this class. (:
